Development of a Reference Model and Methods for the Management of Demand Variability in the Supply Chain

Research Project "ODYSSEUS" with the collaboration of laboratories and other Greek universities: Athens University of Economics and Business, University of Thessaly, University of the Aegean.


The project studied supply chain processes and the impact of demand variability on the performance of production, procurement, distribution, sales and customer service.

 

A reference model of supply chain processes as areusable generic model  was developed. ) for application to different undertakings. Based on this model, a set of quantitative methods and IT tools was proposed to  manage the variability of demand. For the development of the reference model, the methods of the ARIS architecture and the ARIS Business Architect tool were used, adapting them to the needs of this project.
