Nikos Panayiotou is a Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Director of the Industrial Engineering Laboratory (IELab). He has been teaching in undergraduate programmes in NTUA since 2001, in Athens MBA since 2004 and in HOU MBA since 2015. The subjects he teaches are Industrial Management, Electronic Commerce, Management Science & Operational Research, Decision Support Systems (DSS), Marketing and Management for People and Organisations. He has supervised more than 170 Diploma Theses as the main supervisor. He has also consulting experience (KPMG Greece, Deloitte Business Solutions Greece).

He possesses a PhD Eng. title from NTUA in the subject of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and Activity Based Costing (ABC), and an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Lancaster University, UK.  He has a Diploma from NTUA in Mechanical Engineering, having followed the direction of Production Engineering.

His areas of expertise are Industrial Management, Process Management, Business Process Engineering & Reengineering, Performance Measurement, Enterprise Information Systems and E-Business. He has a 25-year working experience and he participated actively in more than 50 consulting and research projects in public and private organizations in Greece and Europe.

He has written more than 120 publications in scientific journals, chapters for books and conference proceedings (with peer review). He is the writer of two books and he is an occasional columnist in managerial press for subjects related to management.
