IELab NTUA is a member of the Consortium of the new HORIZON EU Project WATSON. The project has received a grant agreement and NTUA has already signed it. The project will start on March 2023 and we are prepared for the implementation.
The full title of the project is “A holistic frameWork with Anticounterfeit and inTelligence-based technologieS that will assist food chain stakehOlders in rapidly identifying and preveNting the spread of fraudulent practices”. The consortium consists of 44 partners from 20 different countries.
WATSON is a large and ambitious project aiming to identify and prevent the spread of fraudulent practices in EU food systems. Industrial Engineering Laboratory NTUA is responsible for the application of technological innovations, mainly blockchain and IoT. The project will be applied in six critical food sectors including : alcoholic beverages (wine), honey, olive oil, meat, cereal and dairy, salmon.
